AVB: The situation has shifted

Andre Villas-Boas remains confident of guiding Tottenham to Champions League qualification after defeat against Fulham.

Following back-to-back defeats to Liverpool and Fulham, coupled with Chelsea’s win against West Ham yesterday we find ourselves back in fourth place and are four points ahead of Arsenal, who have a match in hand, against Everton next month.

Spurs fans are becoming nervous that we could miss out on Champions League football yet again after last season’s collapse, it could be on the cards again which would be a disaster.

“The situation has shifted, it has become difficult,” the Tottenham manager said.

“We have the direct games against Arsenal and Chelsea which can enable us to get back to third hopefully, or bring Man City closer to us.

“The margin over Arsenal is what we want to build and we have to get the most amount of points from the next games.

“After the international break we have to get back to business and do our job against Swansea and try to collect the points there to put us in a more comfortable position by the time we play Man City.”

  1. We blown it yet AGAIN,,, With tough games with Chelsea and man city coming up and Europa League games before them i can only see this ending in disappointment once again,,, so many player just not up for the job, (ie Parker, Sigurdsson, Dempsey, Naughton, Adebayor.. etc… Yesterday was just a fxxking shambles..

  2. Strikers are not doing what they should. They put more 1 gear up.
DEFENDER nAUGHTON, IS NOT UP TO THE MARK YET. BAE is a more effective LB.
Creative and combative is still Dembelle and Parker. Holtby on standby. as mentioned Holtby was a creative, attacking midfielder from Shalker ? Should attack more, and the goals WILL come..
Don't know what happened to Livermore. Siggy and Dempsey seemed not gelling yet.
    Gallas, bench him.
