“Back home. What a fantastic stadium” – Spurs double-winner loves what he saw at 62,062 seater ground

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed some memorable times at White Hart Lane, including the 1960/61 campaign which saw them win the league title and FA Cup in a historic double.

Among the players to feature in the side which was led by Bill Nicholson was Cliff Jones. The 84-year-old Welshman was back in North London last weekend to visit the club’s brand new stadium to watch the Under 18’s fixture against Southampton.

Jones is regularly seen at Tottenham matches and often puts those decades younger than him in the shade with his energy and passion for the club.

He was suitably impressed by the 62,062 seater stadium and admitted that the venue is just what the loyal Spurs fanbase deserve for their support.

Jones is looking forward to seeing the stadium at full capacity and will get the opportunity to do so when the first Premier League match takes place against Crystal Palace next Wednesday evening.
