Bale, Lennon, Gallas injury update

0

Tottenham Hotspur have this afternoon released a brief update on the fitness of Gareth Bale, William Gallas and Aaron Lennon after all three were forced off injured during the 2-2 draw against Basel.

All three players underwent scans on their respective injuries today – Bale (sprained ankle ligaments), Gallas (calf strain) and Lennon (soft tissue contusion below the knee) and the results showed that all three are expected to return to training within two weeks.

The trio will definitely miss the Premier League match against Everton on Sunday, the return leg against Basel next Thursday and we’ll be hoping at least to have Bale and Lennon fit to face Manchester City at the Lane on April 21st.

It has now become a blessing that our match against Chelsea had to be delayed due to their continued involvement in the FA Cup.

Two massive matches await us in the form of Everton and Basel and it will be interesting to see how we cope without our wide pair.

  1. Kinda embarrassing the way he went down again as if he's got a leg break -for the 100th time this season – and needed a stretcher 3 inches from the touchline, but actually its just a sprain (again). One wonders what Bale will do if he gets his leg broken, dig a grave and lie in it?

    • unbelievable comment. "kind of embarrassing"…he has been a legend for us this season and his ankle was severely twisted. With a player of that quality no risks should be taken and a stetcher is a must. appalled by your comment.

  2. We dont have any true width to replace them with. I believe in AVB , hope he has the insight to change the formation a little, to suit the players he has at his disposal. Not many managers can change the way they think.
Even the great ones . If Wenger has a major flaw he doesnt change his phylosophy on the way he thinks .I know he manages the scum but you cant deny he is a great manager. I would like to see Carrol start and one of our young strikers placed on the bench. Come on AVB no Bale no Lennon = Spurs struggling if we play the same formation, Seen it all season long. We ned to beat Everton

    COYS

  3. Interesting – that's one way of putting it – and with Defoe out and no decent striker (Sorry Ade but you have failed to deliver), i'm not at all hopeful. making the best use of the squad and in the interest of having a balanced set-up I'd like to see AVB play Walker on the Right Wing in front of Naughton with BEA pushed further up on the left and Vertonghen at left back with Cauker and Dawson at centre, Dembele, Parker Hudd (controversial here), in the middle and Ade up front

  4. bale hasnt exactly been steaming down the wings of late so dont really think its going to affect our wide game! lets just hope the lads step up and get this season wrapped up !! COYS

  5. badly let down with strikers, how about we give a youth player a start instead of Adebayor, Townsend & Rose would have been useful in the squad instead of Hudd and Livermore
