Bale nervously avoids return to Spurs question

Gareth Bale was questioned about a possible return to Tottenham Hotspur following his heroics in the Champions League final and nervously dodged the question.

The Welshman came off the bench in the 60th minute of the match against Liverpool and scored a stunning overhead kick within minutes of coming on the field and grabbed a second later following a horrific mistake from the Liverpool keeper.

If Tottenham could get over the hurdle of Bale’s £350,000 a week current salary, they would likely have to try and battle with Manchester United who are long term admirers of the 28-year-old.

I’d love to see Bale back in a Spurs shirt, but I cannot see it happening purely for financial reasons.

He told the press conference: “I really don’t know. It’s something I’m going to have to sit down with my agent and discuss.

“Obviously I need to be playing every week. I feel like I should be playing every week. If that’s not the case here then it’s something I’m really going to have to consider.

“The game has literally just finished so I have a long summer to relax and unwind. Maybe I’ll stay here, maybe I won’t. We’ll sit down in the summer and try and resolve the issue.”
