Berahino bid not dead

West Brom striker Saido Berahino, 22, has not given up hope of completing a move to Spurs before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.

Berahino has not featured in West Brom’s last three matches after being taken out of the team by boss Tony Pulis who feels his head is not in the right place to play following the pursuit from Spurs.

Mauricio Pochettino has already seen two bids rejected for the England Under-21 international, who has formally submitted a transfer request.  The bids to date have been made up of potential add-ons while the Baggies are looking for an outright bid of £25million.

One player who could still be heading to West Brom is Fazio.  The central defender refused to a clause in his contract that stated his wages would be cut in the event of relegation from the Premier League. A deal could yet be resurrected.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. Tis can be resolve quickly and easily if Levy bids the £25m that WBA allegedly wants. If we are to believe what we've been told then Levy's rejected bids have been £18m and £22m. If true then stop faffing about an offer a bit extra, makes more sense than buying a crocked Brazillian striker who doesn't know our league.

  2. I don't think the £22m bid was unacceptable, it was the silly way that Spurs wanted to pay it. I don't think it will happen now as our start without Berahino has not been very good and we have no time to replace him. If he hangs on now till January and plays well, I think one of the big clubs will come in for him and won't quibble as Spurs have done.
