West Brom have rejected a third bid from Tottenham for Saido Berahino, Press Association Sport understands.

The offer, which arrived late on Tuesday, was only marginally better than Spurs’ previous bid, which would have only risen to £1million with clauses and add-ons.

The Baggies have instantly dismissed Tottenham’s third approach and remain determined to keep the England Under-21 striker at The Hawthorns.

Berahino had a transfer request rejected last month with Albion angered by Tottenham’s continued pursuit of the 22-year-old.

The Baggies are understood to be unhappy with Spurs’ approach to the deal which has only strengthened their resolve to keep Berahino.

The forward has been left out of West Brom’s last three squads during the speculation with boss Tony Pulis insisting he was not in the right state of mind to play.

Spurs have been searching for more firepower to help Harry Kane and, despite signing Son Heung-min from Bayer Leverkusen, maintained their interest in Berahino.

He scored 20 goals last season, and earned a call-up to the England senior squad, but missed Euro 2015 for the Under-21s with a knee injury.

  1. If the figures bandied about are correct, obviously Spurs didnt rate the player highly enough to put the full asking price on the table which we are give to believe is £25M. Either that or Levy who rates himself a tough negotiator though that WBA would cave in and take what he gives them even at this extremely late hour. Never ceases to amaze me the arrogance of this tiny man. You can bet that he would have demanded top dollar for his player if the boot was on ther other foot. In this day and age, Berahino is worth every penny of the asking price of £25M if Sterling went for £49M. I dont care what anyone says or thinks, you have to speculate in order to accumulate and this young English player should have been snapped up, he has experience in the EPL and knows Harry Kane very well through their U21 days. We dont know the full story but Levy has previous and I have no doubt that he will give a statement within the next couple of days pleading his innocence. To my mind, the man is a first class clown and I'm not alone in wishing him and ENIC out of our club. They have stringed us fans along since they took over the club and will continue to do so as long as they are at the helm.
