Tottenham Hotspur suffered back to back defeats for the first time since September after losing to Burnley and Chelsea in the space of four days.
It was a night to forget for Spurs at Stamford Bridge with the final nail in the club’s hopes of a slim title challenge and now have to look over their shoulder at the chasing pack.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all picked up maximum points from their matches to close the gap on third-placed Tottenham.
Spurs now face Arsenal in the North London derby at Wembley on Saturday lunchtime and celebrity Gunners fan Piers Morgan is relishing the clash.
He took to Twitter to congratulate Arsenal on their 5-1 demolition of Bournemouth and fired some shots across to their fierce rivals by stating “Bring on the choking Cockerels…” a reference to Mauricio Pochettino’s side who are struggling for form in the Premier League.
An unthinkable victory for Arsenal would see them close the gap on Spurs to just one point.
