Celtic boss comments on the future of player linked with Tottenham

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that he hopes to get Odsonne Edouard to commit to a new contract at the club.

The 22-year-old has impressed north of the border this season having scored 27 goals in 45 apperances in all competitions (transfermarkt).

The performances of the £30million rated striker are said to have attracted the attention of Tottenham Hotspur (Area Napoli) while there is interest from fellow Premier League clubs including Newcastle United (Daily Star) and Arsenal (The Mirror).

During an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Lennon was asked by former Celtic player Chris Sutton about Edouard’s future and made it clear that it is his intention to discuss a new deal.

Edouard is under contract at Parkhead until 2022 (Daily Record) after joining the Scottish giants from Paris Saint-Germain while Brendan Rodgers was in charge.

Spurs have struggled for an out and out striker to put the ball in the back of the net following the injuries to Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.
