Champions League winner distances himself from Spurs switch

Jordi Alba insists he wants to remain at Barcelona amid interest linking him with a move to Tottenham Hotspur transfer.

The 29-year-old left back, who is currently on international duty with Spain at the World Cup has heavily been linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks, along with interest from fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.

Alba joined Barcelona from Valencia in 2012 for a bargain €14 million and in that time has helped the Catalan giants to four La Liga wins and one Champions League trophy.

It remains to be seen what exactly is happening on the left-back front at Tottenham, Danny Rose has been almost linked with a move to Manchester United on a weekly basis up until a few weeks ago, with United having reportedly pulled out of the race to sign the England international.

Should Rose stay at Spurs, decide to knuckle down and win his place back from Ben Davies, we’ll have no need to bring in another left-back.

Alba told the Spanish press when asked if speculation about his future was affecting him: “No, no, I’m very good at Barca.

“If it were up to me, I would stay at Barcelona all my life.

“But it does not depend on me but on what the club wants.

“It also depends on my performance, which this season has been very good, but I do not see myself outside of Barcelona.”
