Charlie Nicholas on who will win between Barcelona and Spurs

Sky Sports football pundit Charlie Nicholas has given his prediction on who he thinks will win tonight’s Champions League match between Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side go into the final match of the group stage knowing that they must at the very least match Inter Milan’s result against PSV Eindhoven at the San Siro or they will be eliminated from the competition and drop down into the Europa League.

A number of Spurs players have not made the trip to the Nou Camp due to injury which includes Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Mousa Dembele, Victor Wanyama while Juan Foyth is ineligible after not being named in the initial squad for the competition.

It remains to be seen if Barcelona will risk the likes of Lionel Messi this evening considering they have already topped the group and are guaranteed a place in the next round.

The task ahead of Spurs is no doubt a tough one and Nicholas believes that Spurs will fall at the final hurdle.

He told Sky Sports: “Barcelona are through but the thing is this is Barcelona and they don’t do anyone any favours. Spurs will have a real go but I think this is just a game too far for them here in what should be a decent game of football.

“Tottenham have got really dangerous players and there’ll be loads of goals because they’ll open up the game but that’ll suit Barcelona with some open football being their cup of tea.

“Prediction: 4-2.”
