“Cheers son’s crying” – Some Spurs fans react to the new stadium news

Supporters have this afternoon been reacting to the latest announcement from Tottenham Hotspur regarding the new stadium.

The club have confirmed that the Premier League fixture against Manchester United on 13 January will be held at Wembley, as the club continues to wait for a safety certificate to be awarded.

The stadium was due to open on September 15th for the visit of Liverpool, but delays have meant that home fixtures have had to be played at the national stadium, with an agreement in place to host matches there for the remainer of the season if required.

Spurs confirmed that they hope to update supporters further after they receive an update from contractors in the week beginning January 7th.

The news has been met with frustration from some Spurs fans, especially season ticket holders who have paid large sums of money on the promise of seeing their side play at the new stadium yet still have to put up with trips to Wembley.
