Tottenham Hotspur are holding “ongoing” discussions with potential companies regarding the naming rights to the new stadium.
For the time being at least, it will officially be known as the “Tottenham Hotspur Stadium”until the club can attract the right name from both a financial and a brand fit.
In recent months there have been rumours with the likes of FedEx and Apple, however Nike could be a potential contender when you look at the similarities between our stadium branding and that of stadiums in Tokyo and Milan.
A report from the Evening Standard back in May claimed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy had originally been looking for a 20-year deal worth £20million annually.
The club’s executive director Donna-Maria Cullen has said in an interview with the Evening Standard, yesterday that talks with naming partners are ongoing and did not rule out the prospect of “Tottenham” remaining in the name.
If we were betting men, we would hazard a guess that it will end up being something to do with Nike. What do you think?
