Club official insists heavily-linked Spurs target is not for sale

Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has provided an update on Milan Skriniar’s future at the Italian giants.

The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the past week with The Sun claiming that the North Londoners were not prepared to meet the £55million valuation.

Ausilio spoke to Italian TV channel DASN ahead of Inter’s Serie A match against Fiorentina last night and was asked about what the future holds for Skriniar at the San Siro.

The Inter chief admitted that they have held a meeting with Tottenham but insisted that the central defender is not for sale.

Following the departure of experienced stopper Diego Godin to Cagliari, Ausilio insisted that he is not prepared to see another defender depart the club in the current transfer window.

Skriniar was said to have been keen on a move to North London but it now appears that the club may have to look elsewhere to bolster their back line.

Ausilio told DASN (26/10/20) as translated by SempreInter: “I don’t confirm any negotiations. There was a meeting with Tottenham, true, but we told them that Skriniar is not for sale. Godin has already been sold and we are not thinking of depriving ourselves of Skriniar as well.”
