Jose Mourinho has named his Tottenham Hotspur side which will take to the field in today’s lunchtime kick-off against Southampton.

Spurs come into the match at St Mary’s on the back of the disappointing 1-0 defeat against Everton last weekend while the Saints are also seeking their first win of the season following their defeat at Crystal Palace by a similar scoreline.

Tottenham are once again without the services of Japhet Tanganga with the academy graduate expected to be sidelined for a few weeks due to a thigh issue (Spurs official).

Dele Alli has been left out of the squad for the second successive match.

Southampton have won both of their last two home league games against Tottenham; they had won none of their previous six such matches against Spurs at St. Mary’s before this (D2 L4).

This is who features for Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon:

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris (C), Doherty, Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Hojbjerg, Winks, Ndombele, Lucas, Son, Kane.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. I can see why Alli was left out, he is an emotional player. Whether it be confidence or anger, he needs one of those and the way he was playing suggests a lack of confidence. Leaving him out of the starting line up will, or should get him angry. There is no crisis as far as I can see with him. I am finally starting to understand the way Mourinho thinks.. and I have to say, I like it.
