Crystal Palace chairman gives his opinion on Mauricio Pochettino’s behaviour

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has taken to Twitter to praise Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Parish was full of admiration of the manager for deciding to apologise to referee Mike Dean during his press conference ahead of the trip to Chelsea in the Premier League this evening.

Tottenham’s title hopes took an almost fatal blow on Saturday at Turf Moor after falling to a surprise 2-1 defeat to Burnley.

After Burnley’s opening goal was marked in controversy after being awarded a corner kick when the ball last touched one of their own players angered Pochettino who made his feelings known to the fourth official.

After the final whistle, Pochettino confronted Dean on the pitch and vented his frustration at the officials, with the referee also antagonising the Spurs backroom staff with his comments.

Pochettino refused to disclose what was said between the pair and admitted that he should not have acted in the manner of which he did.
