No Inter bid for Spurs target Damiao

Internacional president Giovanni Luigi has denied reports linking reported Tottenham target Leandro Damiao with Inter Milan.

Spurs have been heavily linked with a move for the Brazilian striker over the past few transfer windows and speculation has resurfaced with the news that Emmanuel Adebayor has decided to represent Togo at the African Cup of Nations.

Damiao is known to have a £47million buyout clause in his contract which Daniel Levy certainly won’t pay anywhere near. We have had bids rejected by Internacional as recently as the summer which did not meet their value.

“Inter Milan interested in Leandro Damiao? Someone told me about it, but there were no direct contacts and we have never received a direct offer,” Luigi said.

“This did happen with some clubs from the English Premier League.

“The future of the player? When we get an important offer, we will evaluate it. But to sell in January, this would have to be a very, very attractive offer.”
