Dani Alves sends message of support to Spurs player

Former Barcelona and PSG defender Dani Alves has sent a message of support to Lucas Moura following Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League exit.

Spurs headed to RB Leipzig on Tuesday evening looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit but in reality they failed to pose a threat to the Bundesliga side in the second leg and limped to a 3-0 defeat.

Moura was named in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven but was unable to replicate the sort of impact that made him a cult figure among Spurs fans following his heroics in Amsterdam last season.

The 27-year-old took to Instagram to describe the elimination from European football’s most prestigious club competition as ‘painful’ whilst insisting that he is proud to play for the club.

Alves sent a positive message back to his Brazilian team-mate insisting that he will come back stronger from the heartbreak.

The Spurs players will certainly have a long time to dwell on the cup exit after the Premier League took the decision to suspend the league until at least April 4th following the coronavirus pandemic.
