Defensive duo absent for visit of Man City

Manchester City are the visitors to Wembley on Monday night and Tottenham Hotspur’s defensive duo of Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose will once again be absent.

Vertonghen has been sidelined with a hamstring problem since sustaining the injury during the first half of the Premier League win at Huddersfield Town at the end of September.

Rose had to withdraw from England’s UEFA Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain due to a groin injury that he picked up in the win against Cardiff City. The left-back has shown glimpses of some of his best form this season and many fans would agree that he is certainly a better choice than Ben Davies.

There is some positive news with the return to training of Dele Alli and the midfielder will be considered for selection after recovering from his hamstring strain.
