Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social media to share their reaction to Jose Mourinho’s team selection the Premier League game against Newcastle United this evening which kicks off in less than an hour’s time.
Mourinho is once again without central defender Eric Dier, who is serving the third match of his four game ban while Dele Alli’s hamstring issues also keep him sidelined.
The North Londoners have lost their last three away Premier League games which have taken place on a Wednesday, one more than they have lost in their previous 13 such matches (W9 D2 L2).
Anything less than a victory for Spurs could have dramatic consequences on their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League next season.
Serge Aurier takes his place at right back despite the death of his brother earlier this week following a shooting in France. The Ivorian’s decision to take to the field has been met with huge appreciation and respect from the Spurs faithful.
Here is how some fans reacted to Mourinho’s starting eleven.
Do it for Serge lads ❤️

Massive respect to Aurier for even being there today. Team might be a bit leggy as most of them have played a lot of football in the past ten days but hopefully we can get the win!

Hope Aurier is alright playing, can't imagine what he's going through, but massive respect anyway.
