“Dropped Eriksen, already a legend” – Some fans react to Mourinho’s team vs West Ham

Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social media to share their reaction to today’s team
selection against West Ham United.

The match against the Hammers at the London Stadium sees Jose Mourinho take charge of Spurs for the first time since he was appointed as head coach on Wednesday following the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino.

The Portuguese is tasked with trying to close the gap on the top four from which Spurs are already eleven points adrift of fourth placed Manchester City.

Tottenham have dropped a league-high 12 points from winning positions in the Premier League this season – just two fewer than they dropped in the whole of 2018-19 (14) which half explains why the club find themselves in the unfamiliar position of fourteenth place in the table.

Mourinho has brought Eric Dier back into the starting eleven at the expense of Moussa Sissoko, while Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose are both on the bench.

Jan Vertonghen has failed to recover from the hamstring injury that kept him out of the 1-1 draw against Sheffield United, while Tanguy Ndombele also missed out with a groin problem he picked up against the Blades.
