Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first home defeat of the new Premier League campaign on Sunday against Newcastle United.
Some Spurs fans have been critical of the atmosphere at the new 62,062 capacity seater stadium after video footage emerged which was recorded inside the stadium of the fans sitting in silence while one spectator is more interested in playing a game on his smartphone.
The video sparked a reaction on social media with some supporter confirming that there is also a lack of atmosphere generated in their respective area of the ground.
When the stadium was built, it was hoped that the 17,500 capacity single tier south stand would generate a wall of noise.
Other supporters also blamed the silence on the fact that many are being priced out of attending matches whilst also becoming somewhat of a hotbed for tourists and day trippers.
The fans should sing no matter what, especially those who decided to be in the park lane.

The club are pricing the normal working man fan out of the game. I ain't going to pay 90 to watch winks and shelvey.

Fuckin joke. I hate to say it but I’m not enjoying the new stadium with the dire atmosphere. When it’s rocking it’s great but that’s very rare

This was always going to happen to our stadium. Its now a tourist attraction. People will come just to say they've been and post a few pics on social media. Everyone should have seen this coming at Wembley. Im not suprised!

As a traveling fan I back this 100%. Been waiting years to sing my ass off & finally was able to. However many tourists couldn’t be bothered including the couple in front of me. Guy was smoking E cig & missing to get food during the match. Wife edited her ig pics the entire time.

Literally the same club who always laughed at arsenal for having tourists in the ground are now the same club that are having half of South Korea inside the ground waving Korean flags ???

Pathetic but I’m not surprised

Whilst the performance against the Magpies certainly did not help matters, seeing this kind of footage at our stadium is frankly embarrasing.
If you’re going to go to a game, sing your heart out and get behind the boys. Leave your phone in your pocket and watch the match.
