Tottenham Hotspur were dumped out of the Carabao Cup this evening after a penalty shoot out defeat to Colchester United.
The League Two side performed admirably against Premier League opposition, who were an absolute disgrace to the shirt.
The Spurs players looked tired and bereft of confidence. Some may say that the result doesn’t matter but it’s massively embarrassing for a club which made it to the final of the Champions League last season.
The cracks seem to be deeper than first thought, this result has certainly been coming in recent weeks. There’s a lot of work to do to get the player’s confidence back and get them back to the standards we expect.
Pochettino’s body language in recent weeks has also been plain to see with his arms crossed, looking at the ground and somewhat spiky when talking to the media.
His tactics have also got to be questioned, why did he decide to pick three central defenders and two holding midfielders in his starting eleven; we set up with a huge lack of creativity.
