European club hopeful of landing Spurs’ £25million defender after two previous approaches

Spartak Moscow are growing increasingly confident that they can secure a deal for Serge Aurier.

Sky Sports claim that the Russian side have previously made two enquiries to Tottenham this month for the Ivorian international.

Aurier is said to be one of the members of Jose Mourinho’s squad who could be on the move before the transfer window closes on October 5th.

The 27-year-old is yet to play a minute of action for the North Londoners this season with Mourinho instead preferring to play summer signing Matt Doherty in each of the opening three fixtures (transfermarkt).

The right-back who joined Spurs from PSG in 2017 for £25million (Mirror) had been linked with a move to AC Milan earlier in the window, along with interest from Monaco (Sky Sports) and also from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen.

Talks between Spurs and AC Milan are said to have stalled with both clubs having a difference of opinion on the valuation of the defender who has two years left to run on his contract.
