Fabrizio Romano claims last details to be sorted soon over defender’s exit

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Juan Foyth looks set to complete a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine international is reportedly close to a joining Spanish side Villarreal on loan which includes an option to make the transfer permanent for €15million (£13.5million).

Villarreal are said to be prepared to cover 100% of Foyth’s wages with the defender having snubbed two offers from un-named Italian clubs in order to link up with Unai Emery’s side.

Foyth has struggled at Spurs since Jose Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino last November, having just started just one Premier League game under Mourinho which came against Norwich City in December and was brought off at half time following a mistake he made which led to a Canaries goal.

The 23-year-old has yet to make an appearance this season and has fallen behind the likes of Japhet Tanganga, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez in the central defensive pecking order.
