Fernando Llorente is putting Mesut Ozil to shame in the Premier League

Fernando Llorente hasn’t had the easiest times at Tottenham Hotspur since his switch from Swansea City in 2017.

With Harry Kane being the focal point of the Tottenham attack, the Spaniard has found first team opportunities to be few and far between.

This was of course until Kane suffered ankle ligament damage in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United last month which has kept him sidelined ever since.

Llorente has come back into the first team fold and after a difficult return to the side, is now starting to show glimpses of the quality which made him one of Europe’s top strikers in his prime.

Following his part in Christian Eriksen’s vital goal against Leicester City yesterday, he notched up yet another assist.

The Spaniard now has three times the number of assists in the Premier League this season than what Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil has.

Most Arsenal fans are always quick to shout about how many assists Ozil has had in previous seasons compared to Christian Eriksen, but this season he cannot even keep up with a 33-year-old.

Spurs are currently ten points better off in the table than sixth-placed Arsenal.
