Tottenham Hotspur Under-23’s Premier League 2 fixture which was orginally scheduled to be held as the first football match ever to be played at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium has been moved.
The match was due to be held as an opportunity for fans to see the stadium for the first time and cheer on the academy side at 2pm on Monday 27th August, the match will instead take place on Friday 24th August at Stevenage’s stadium with kick-off at 7pm.
No doubt the Spurs youngsters will have been disappointed that they have missed out on the opportunity to play at the new stadium later this month, but hopefully the club will re-arrange a future Under-23 fixture to be part of the test event schedule in order for the club to finally be awarded a safety certificate before any Premier League matches can take place at the stadium.
The Legends match against Bayern Munich is also expected to be rescheduled for a later date.
