Five ruled out and one doubt for Spurs ahead of Wolves

Tottenham Hotspur are waiting on the fitness of Dele Alli ahead of the visit of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

The midfielder recently picked up a hamstring injury during the 6-2 win against Everton at Goodison Park following a heavy collision with Toffees keeper Jordan Pickford.

Dele had to be replaced at half time and also missed yesterday’s 5-0 thrashing of AFC Bournemouth at Wembley.

Serge Aurier could also return to the squad after returning to training following a groin problem.

Definitely out of the match against the Premier League newcomers are Mousa Dembele (ankle), Eric Dier (appendicitis), Jan Vertonghen (thigh) and Victor Wanyama.

Tottenham will be looking to continue their fine run of recent form which has seen them move up to second in the Premier League table at the expense of Manchester City.

Mauricio Pochettino will likely shuffle some of his side from the one which started against Bournemouth to try and keep his players as fresh as possible as the festive fixtures keep coming thick and fast.
