Five things we learned from Spurs’ dismal display against Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur needed a win today against Bournemouth to secure a top-four place for another season, ahead of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

However, after Heung-mon Son and Juan Foyth both saw red, a nine-man Tottenham struggled to hold on to a point, and eventually succumbed to an injury-time Nathan Ake header from a corner.

Spurs have now two huge games left to play starting with Wednesday night in the Champions League semi final second leg against Ajax, followed by the final Premier League game of the season at home to Everton.

The Champions League match at Ajax now becomes make or break for Tottenham's season. Either they make the final and end the year on a high, or they get knocked out and face a race to pick themselves up by the Everton match. Son needs to step up and make amends for his huge mistake today with a man of the match performance in midweek.
