Former Tottenham Hotspur youngster Kieran McKenna has joined Vancouver Whitecaps as a guest assistant coach.
The former Northern Ireland Under-21 international was forced to retire in March 2009 due to a hip injury and decided to progress a career in coaching.
“I am very excited about coming to Vancouver,” McKenna told whitecapsfc.com last week. “I know the Whitecaps youth program is regarded as the best in North America and I am excited to contribute to the ambitious plans of the club.”
“It was obviously devastating when I had to stop playing at a young age, but with the support of my family, I stayed positive and looked to the future,” he added.
We’d like to wish Kieran all the best for the future.
