Foyth confirms Spurs move

It looks like one of the longest transfer sagas in recent Tottenham history is about to come to an end, after Juan Foyth was quoted in the Argentinean press as saying he has decided on a move to the club.

The 19-year-old Estudiantes central defender was also linked with a move to PSG, but his player and his parents were said to prefer a move to Tottenham.

Foyth will become Tottenham’s second signing of the summer, following fellow defender Davinson Sanchez.

It looked for a while that a deal was dead in the water, after Spurs refused to match PSG’s offer but it looks like once again Daniel Levy has been negotiating in his typical shrewd fashion.

Speaking to Argentinian newspaper El Dia, Foyth is quoted as saying: “It’s a club that bets on the young and I think I’m going to have a chance to play.

“I also spoke with Mauricio Pochettino and I liked what he said. It was what helped me decide that Tottenham was the right place to continue my career.

“He told me to go, train and that I would be involved I would play. He also told me what the club was like, what job idea it had.”

According to Pochettino, who said he’s looking to bring in three players before the deadline. Foyth being one, who would the other two be?
