First half, when he was good, he was very, very good, but when he was bad, he was bad. Terrible misjudgements in coming for the ball and distribution were balanced with shot stopping and rapid game changing distribution. He settled into some sort of normality second half. Match Summary

It was only our second win at the Emirates, revenge for earlier in the month, a semi-final berth but it was even more than that – it was a titanic performance.

After a sluggish display against Burnley, it was everything we didn’t see that day. For a period Spurs dominated in the first half and they played with zip and penetration. For almost the entirety of the second half they developed their impressive pressing game into a fabulously resilient defensive display.

But they won because, allied to that consummate team performance, they had the impudent genius of one completely exceptional footballer.
