One night no one can complain about inaction from Pochettino on sixty minutes. His substitutions showed all the ambition in the world – we weren’t going to die wondering. Lamela got on the ball so much between the lines in the centre. Lucas looked as good as he’s done in several games, a real threat who could / should have had more than the one precious goal. And, Llorente turned up and was part of it – good for him!
Summary
This was a great performance, one of the best ever. OK, they didn’t win but no one would have given them a snowball’s chance in hell of qualifying three games ago. And they did it – they bloody did it! Character, yes, buckets of character. But skill too.
They went to the Nou Camp and utterly dominated second half. Their collective touch around the eighteen yard area was positively Barcelonesque. We’re so proud of those players.
Now, we look forward to Monday and learn of who we will face in the next round.
