Back to his best. Danny Rose was bombing up and down that left hand side all night, always offering an overlap when needed. He also won a number of aerial duels against the much taller Cardiff striker Patterson.

Tottenham Hotspur got their New Year off to the perfect start this evening, slotting three past Cardiff in one of the most comfortable matches of the season to date.

Goals from Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, and Heung-min Son sealed all three points for Tottenham early on in the match, and the result never looked in any danger with Neil Warnock’s side rarely posing any kind of threat of a comeback.

Tottenham will now turn their attention to Friday night’s FA Cup third-round tie at Tranmere Rovers.
