Tottenham Hotspur returned to Premier League action today following the highs of Wednesday night’s Champions League victory against Real Madrid, with Crystal Palace the visitors to Wembley.

Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Hugo Lloris were all ruled out through injury as Mauricio Pochettino was forced to shuffle his team.

Both sides pressed each other hard which during the first half meant chances were few and far between in the first half hour of play, the best chance coming to Danny Rose who failed to get his header on target.

Debutant keeper Gazzaniga also pulled of a fantastic save to deny Palace from taking the lead just before the 40 minute mark. Apart from that, it was a first half to forget.

Tottenham managed to break the deadlock on 63 minutes when Heung-min Son curled the ball into the near post to calm the nerves of the home fans.

Below, we’ve put together a match action gallery of the best shots from the match.

Son had a couple of other chances to extend Tottenham’s lead but failed to show a lack of composure on both occasions.

A win is a win, but this was hard work.
