Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has something in common with Mesut Ozil after Fulham cameo

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou had become something of a forgotten man at Tottenham Hotspur after struggling to make an impact at the club following his 2016 transfer from Marseille.

The winger made 17 appearances, mostly from the substitutes during his first season with Spurs in all competitions, but played just six times last season before joining Burnley on loan.

His spell at the Clarets was equally as uninspiring after only making eight appearances for the Clarets before returning to London.

Before Sunday’s match at Fulham, he had only featured once this season when he came off the bench during the Carabao Cup fourth-round victory at West Ham United.

After Dele Alli pulled up with a left hamstring injury and had to be replaced on 87 minutes, Pochettino handed a rare cameo to Nkoudou.

He may have only played eight minutes of the match, but his pinpoint cross onto the head of Harry Winks proved to be crucial as Spurs took all three points back to North London.

Some Spurs fans were quick to point out that despite only playing eight minutes of Premier League football this season, Nkoudou has drawn level with Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil who also has one assist to his name.
