Kicking-off this weekends fixtures, Spurs can ensure they stay in the top four with a win over a Blackburn side which has pulled itself clear of the relegation battle with four wins and a draw from their last seven league games. The good news for Redknapp is that Rovers position of safety is built almost entirely in their home form. Away from Ewood Park Sam Allardyces team have one of the worst records in the league, with only Hull and Burnley picking up fewer points on their travels.

Correct Score

Tottenham 1-0 – 11/2
Tottenham 2-1 – 7/1
Tottenham 3-0 – 17/2
Tottenham 3-1 – 10/1

After the frustration of the goalless draw with Fulham in the FA Cup, Tottenham will be looking to get back amongst the goals and against a team which has conceded thirty-three times in fourteen away games, the law of averages suggests the home side will score a couple at least. Which is exactly what Peter Crouch did at Ewood Park back in December and following Pavlyuchenkos disappointing display at Craven Cottage, the England striker is likely to start up front alongside Defoe. Crouchs height will cause problems as always and against Rovers physical central defenders, hes sure to win plenty of free-kicks. At 5/1 to score first Crouch is perhaps a better bet than Defoe, who has been struggling slightly with a niggle and could find himself muscled of the ball too easily. If he does win free-kicks around the box Modric at 9/1 might be a good shout, though Kranjcar can strike a decent dead-ball too.

First Goalscorer

Jermain Defoe – 7/2
Roman Pavlyuchenko – 9/2
Peter Crouch – 5/1
Eidur Gudjohnsen – 11/2
Luka Modric – 9/1
Gareth Bale – 14/2

At the back Spurs have been pretty solid, especially considering the continuous injury problems of Woodgate and King. Gomes has played a very big part in this and hes a good bet at 10/11 to keep another cleansheet here. As long as Spurs dont sit back and invite Blackburn to bombard them, which is highly unlikely at White Hart Lane, this game is theirs to control. Rovers have struggled to keep teams at bay away from home and though their recent good form may make them tougher to break down, if Tottenham play with urgency and purpose from the start, then theres goals to be had. 3-0 at 17/2  to go with the three points has a nice ring to it.
