Mauricio Pochettino was somewhat unfairly posed a question about Christian Eriksen’s future on Sunday.

The Tottenham Hotspur boss was a guest of the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone along with his assistant Jesus Perez.

Pochettino was spotted on the starting grid before the race among other familiar faces from the world of sport and television and was stopped by a reporter who initially asked him about his presence at the event before throwing a curve ball with the Eriksen question.

The Eriksen query was dealt superbly by the manager who insisted that he hopes that the playmaker will remain in North London, but admitted that he did not know for sure what will happen.

Just days after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool at the start of last month, Eriksen decided to reveal his desire to the media that he wishes to leave Tottenham whilst inviting attention from Real Madrid (Ekstra Bladet).

Some Spurs fans took to Twitter following the interview to have their say on the situation.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. It’s not just the Eriksen deal, every single negotiation Spurs are in for any player takes an eternity. Now there’s being frugal and being extremely tight, I know which Levy is, he just will not budge. Now some may think that’s great but sometimes you have to bend a little to get a deal done. His stubbornness will cost us one or two of our transfers this window and it’s not going to be as good as everyone thinks, unfortunately Pochettino is going to find that out too. Just hope Levy does enough to keep Poch happy.

  2. I’ll leave the judging to the judgementa though nothing on the Danes future is written in stone. Eriksen is a great talent irrespective of whether he says or goes, if its the latter then I wish him well he’s been a top player at Spurs!
