“He is not worth £9m”

Giovani Dos Santos - Tottenham Hotspur News

Sevilla will not pay the asking price for Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos.

The Mexican international was valued at £9million by Spurs, which does seem a bit on the expensive side considering how little football he has had at the Lane.

The La Liga side offered £4.4m for him during the summer transfer window and now wouldn’t even pay that.

He said: “We don’t have the ability, nor will we pay, what Tottenham are asking for him. He is not worth £9m.

“We offered £4m and £400,000 in extras and that was higher than the market price and he’s now worth less.”

  1. Also – it's not all about first team appearances as well – it's the fact that he has potential, is great on the international stage, and playing in the Spanish league, will flourish (as per how he did at Racing Santander)

  2. It amazes me that this is one of those sites that comments are moderated, and nevertheless, you can make a comment like that made by Spurs Guvnor. I am not complaining about the comment, merely questioning the need for a moderator.

To come to the point, Gaza is right, and we were on the verge of selling him to Seville until they made this offer. Can't say I would let him go for £4 mill when somebody else was offering £12 mill.

  3. Yeh right we are going to let Gio go to Seville for £3 milion when we have been offered £10 mil by Udenese. I thought that their chairman would never deal with us again after the Ramos debacle, oh and Zakora.
