Giovani Dos Santos - Tottenham Hotspur News

Giovani dos Santos has admitted that he wants to leave Tottenham Hotspur and join Sevilla.

The Mexican international spent last season on loan at Racing Santander and wants to return to Spain.

”Sevilla are in my preferences,” dos Santos told AS. ”They are a big Spanish club and I love the possibility of playing for this team although I have many more options.”

”I want my future to be solved in the coming days. My intention is to return to Spain. If Marcelino [Sevilla’s head coach] is my coach, it will be even better. I was very comfortable with him at Racing [Santander] and I would also like to play alongside [Frederic] Kanoute.”

Apparently Sevilla are offering £3.5m, while Spurs want £6million.

  1. he can go i dont think he will be able to cut it in the pl but one thing i do no (im saying this with a smile)levy aint letting him go for 3.5 million they got kanoute to cheaply imo they aint doing it again to us pay up or do 1

  2. I’m a Spurs fan and I dont begrudge this guy wanting to leave Spurs and persue his career elsewhere. He is an undoubted talent who has never really been given a fair crack of the whip by Redknapp imo. Injury and loss of form as a result may have contributed in the beginning but even David Bently had more opportunities in the first team than dos Santos which I think was unfair as Bently is a show pony without pace who would excell at smaller clubs with less limelight such as Blackburn from whence he came. In view of the fact that dos Santos has hardly kicked a ball in anger for Spurs since his arrival from Barca, his resale value cannot have increased and would certainly have decreased. If we are eager to buy new players and get rid of those who are deemed surplus to requirements then £3.5M for dos Santos is reasonable if this report is true.

  3. We’ll never know if he can cut it. He was never given a run of games to build up any confidence. He had a similar start to Bale but Bale got lucky with injuries (and therefore so did we).

I really regret him being left to go. His performances for Mexico can’t just be flukes.

    • Agree with Andres an ray..I am disappointed a very technical player looks to be on his way without realising his potential…i am sure he will be a success wherever he ends up
