Harry Kane reveals when he will return to Tottenham

The World Cup may have just finished, however, Harry Kane is already focusing on the season ahead with Tottenham Hotspur.

The golden boot winner has revealed that he will take just two weeks off to recover from the rigours of a Premier League season and a World Cup to be ready for the opening game of the season which is away to Newcastle United on Saturday 111th August.

We’ve all become accustomed to the ‘Harry Kane can’t score in August’ jokes and our star man is looking to hit the ground running in a bid to reclaim his Premier League top goalscorer accolade from Liverpool’s Mo Salah.

Hopefully, Daniel Levy will put his hand in his pocket and bring someone in to help relieve the goalscoring burden on Kane. Personally, I cannot see that materialising.

“I’ll hopefully be back for the first game and hopefully I can try and score in August this year,” Kane told the press.

“Not many people get to say they’ve won a Golden Boot in a World Cup, it’s a big achievement.

“I said before coming into the tournament I wanted to prove I could do it in these big tournaments.

“The Euros was disappointing for me and if anything I wanted to prove to myself I could score at this level. I’ve scored at every other level and it was important I did that. I’m extremely proud.

“I’m sure I’ll look back in a few weeks’ time and take all these experiences in.”
