He’s a liability, get rid of him – Spurs fans fume at defender

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media after right-back Serge Aurier concede yet another penalty.

The summer signing from PSG has already forged a reputation among Spurs fans as being unpredictable and something of a defensive liability.

Aurier has already given away three penalties this season and received one red card.  He often finds himself positionally the wrong side of his man and comes across as clumsy.

Mauricio Pochettino has some serious work to do with him during the summer, we cannot continue to afford the opposition the gift of getting back into a game.   There was just 18 seconds between Kane’s goal and Aurier giving away the penalty against Brighton.

Spurs fans are not impressed, to say the least, here are a selection of Tweets taken from social media.

Have something to tell us about this article?

  1. He is not the only liability at Spurs I agree that he is not good enough not even for the Championship League , that exhibition on Tuesday night was a horror show slappy passing loosing procession pure school boy stuff even though some people might say it was a tough game and that Brighton fought and chased every ball but they are not on the same planet as Spurs and Spurs made them look superior with our crap football you are only as good as the other team allow you to play two points lost !!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Apparently the manager was only thinking of that game last night and finishing in the top 4. Yes sure !!No chance of winning last night with the creativity of Wanyama and Sissoko being as much use as a jelly. It was shocking. The fumbling frog still juggling the round object that he seems loathe to get a grip on coupled with the now expected studs slip when running out. Aurier is, well, Aurier. A pain. Vertonghen and his long lost mate Toby looked like the olden days, solid, but Harry looks half shot. If right back is our iffy position, Toby should play there for the rest of the season, as he does for Belgium. You’ll then see how easy that position is to play and we would be much more secure, even if the gk is crap. I wont hold my breath, it’ll never happen with this guy in charge.

  3. Kyle Walker-Peters gets man of the match in our first game so why did we even bother signing Aurier? Walker-Peters hasn’t had a chance since and I thought Poch was supposed to give young players a chance. I don’t want to criticise Poch too much but seems like very bad business.

  4. Afraid it’s another Poch shit buy likeSsissoko so he his gonna get lots of game time. That was not our strongest team so no complaints.

  5. i think pothetino must take his head out his ass and stop being the stubborn ASS that he is and give the gud players a chance.. toby is a much better bet than aurier.. i dont see potch leave kane on the bench even if he plays CRAP like he did all the games since he started coming back from injury
