Holtby not at Spurs to make up the numbers

Lewis Holtby is determined to show Tottenham that he has the qualities to become a regular in the side.

The German Under-21 captain will move to White Hart Lane in the summer when his contract expires at Schalke, but according to reports Spurs could land their man this month if they were willing to part with around £1.6million.

It had been suggested in Germany that Holtby may have to be patient to earn a place in the Spurs midfield, but has shown massive self confidence in his ability judging from his quotes below.

Holtby was asked by the German press whether he could expect to struggle to break into the Spurs side, like his compatriot Marko Marin has experienced at Chelsea: ‘I am not Marko Marin, I am Lewis Harry Holtby. I know what I am capable of, and I am thinking very positively about what I can do for Tottenham.’
