Lloris urges Spurs forward

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has urged his team-mates to keep their focus and continue with our fine run of recent form as we continue our quest of Champions League football.

The French shotstopper has displaced Brad Friedel as Tottenham’s number one and has been absolutely superb since coming into the team. He has been commanding on crosses and it always kick out of the box to thwart any attacking threat which is brilliant to see.

We are now on a run where we have suffered just one defeat in our last 13 games and have closed the gap to just one point on third-placed Chelsea.

Lloris told the press: “We have to continue to be strong because Arsenal are there, and Everton as well.

“It was a good opportunity to close in on Chelsea and we took it, so it’s an important win for us.

“West Brom play good football and have two strikers with good movement but we were strong and of course the red card [for Goran Popov] changed the game, but we deserved to win.

“Gareth (Bale) was decisive and scored a fantastic goal but I thought the whole team did well. It was about team work.”

  1. Well, another win and another injury. How strange that we Spurs supporters always look on the dark side of events. For what it's worth my thoughts are that the Defoe injury could turn out to be a blessing. We play best when we have a powerful big forward who can hold the ball up and be a target to relieve pressure at the back. Adebayour offers all of that and much more. The problem with him is he only plays when he feels like it and it seems that is when he feels loved. Make him the natural striker selection each week and he might, just might..return to being the player he was last season. If he does we really can press for third without worrying about the failure to secure another striker in the transfer window. Let's give the guy a chance. You just might get a pleasant surprise.

  2. I couldn’t agree with your comments any more. We were better last season when ade was playing as the lone striker and it is full credit to avb that we are 4th with defoe and dempsey spearheading our attack. The way we are playing I think ade bale lennon and holtby could give us a whole new dimension offensively whilst also surprising opponents with a different angle of attacking play. Coys
