“I have a good relationship with Harry Redknapp”

Giovani Dos Santos has revealed that he hopes to stay at Tottenham Hotspur.

The midfielder spent the last part of the season on loan at Galatasaray and impressed for Mexico at the World Cup in South Africa.

“Perhaps I arrived at the World Cup in my best moment of the season,” Dos Santos told The People’s website.

“I have always believed in myself and am satisfied with how well I’ve done out in South Africa.

“During my time at Spurs I just haven’t had any luck. There have been injury setbacks, difficulties adapting, and few chances from the coach.

“But I feel I have matured and I am still very ambitious. When I left Barcelona my dream was to be a success in the Premier League – and I still think that is possible.

“I have a good relationship with Harry Redknapp, with all the coaches, so I’m not going to head back there looking for controversy. I’ll accept their decisions.

“But I just think I can prove myself here with some patience and opportunities. I need to speak to the club to understand how they look at me – but ideally I want to stay.”

  1. For me he's certainly good enough for the bench and covers a variety of postions: LM/W CAM, FWD and at a push even RW! He has quality and Im sure he'd prob earn at least 15-20 appearences (from the bench or otherwise) what with number of games we could have next season. Give him another year i say!

  2. What little i have seen of him he is the most exciting prospect in years. It remains to be seen if he is tough enough for the prem league or more importantly if he will discipline himself, train and take his chance when it comes.I hope he does because he has the potential to be great and i want him to be great in a Spurs shirt.

  3. GOMES

I like the sound of two strong centre mids like palacios and sandro to allow the nippy lads to strut there stuff, they may be small but they are battlers….modric isnt shy of a tackle and put his boot in with the best of them for a scrawny guy! If we could get in cole and richards id be delighted as wholesale changes isnt the anwser. Gio would be a good bench player but with krancjar, crouch, ?gudjohnson, huddlestone do we need him?

    • If he were the top class player some seem to think then Spurs would receive bids for him from top clubs.

Surely some club in the world must want him after seeing him in the World Cup. So where are the bids for our unsettled super star ?

  4. How many people don't pick Huddleston is amasing to me and a big lesson to fans and Managers alike . Both Ramos and Capello found out is passing is just has valuable has Swinestiger is to Germany Harry quickly spotted this and we finished fourth and only for him being injured a couple of days before Wembleys Semi final and the state of the pitch we would have gone to Wembley Fa cup Final. how you T H above can put a player who could not get in our team for the last few games because of is bad disciplinary and a young untried Sandro is remarkable and a insult to Tom's great season. He is not has fast ha sSwinestiger but just has good passing not has good a dribbler but a better tackler now and shooter and at six foot three also good at set pieces and corners and the best 50 yard passer in the world at speed and accuracy i have ever seen in 47 years i wish i could get a few copy's of his passing on a C+D because all you doubters would realise how good he his and is states would amaze you how we play when he is not playing for Spurs will also amaze you
