Tottenham Hotspur were somewhat yesterday surprisingly linked with a move for Brazilian legend Dani Alves.
The revelation was made by football journalist Duncan Castles on The Transfer Window Podcast when he claimed that Spurs have already made contact with the right-back over a switch to the Champions League finalists.
Alves has had a glittering career having won some of the biggest honours in the game including the Champions League title on three occasions and the La Liga crown six times (talkSPORT).
Some Spurs fans have been reacting on social media to the speculation that Alves has been linked with a potential switch to North London.
Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier have hardly covered themselves in glory last season with neither able to consistently perform at the level expected of a top four Premier League side.
Spurs were earlier in the transfer window linked with a move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka but were unable to sign him before Manchester United stepped in and paid £50million with £80,000-a-week in wages (The Times).
Here’s what some fans have had to say.
This is Dani Alves we are taking about here! He is world class, 36 or not! Better than what we have. Even if we only get a season out of him, if players like that become available it’s a no brainier right?!?

We should get him. He can still play! Had a great copa America and has won a lot and has a lot of experience so would help in the dressing room. A lot of our players could learn off him. Better than what we got also.

Great move if true. Most successful right back ever. Could only add something, even if he only played about 20 games
