Injury Update: Eric Dier and Lucas Moura; Poch has his say

Tottenham fans will be relieved to hear that both Eric Dier and Lucas Moura are both expected to be fit to face Fulham on Saturday.

The pair started the 2-1 win against Newcastle United yesterday, where Moura was replaced in the 68th minute by Mousa Dembele and was spotted holding a bag of ice to his groin after coming off.

Dier, who had only returned to training on Monday following his involvement in the World Cup with England was taken off in the 88th minute, with Luke Amos making his senior debut in his place.

Dier was expected to play the full match, and Fernando Llorente was stripped and ready to come on but Dier’s problems meant a re-shuffle from manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Thankfully there are no big concerns about the pair, who will both report for training at Hotspur Way tomorrow.

Pochettino told Football.London in the post-match press conference: “No, no they are ok. I hope that Monday they will start to train with the team. Eric Dier was so tired. He felt in the end cramp, but Lucas nothing,”

“I think it was very good competition today with a big squad. Massive competition between them and I’m going to rotate in the next few weeks, trying to give the possibility to all the players to play and be important.”
