“It’s time to say goodbye” – Attacking midfielder pays tribute to Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with CD Tenerife for the permanent transfer of Samuel Shashoua.

The 20-year-old academy product spent last season on loan at Atletico Baleares in the third tier of Spanish football where he made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals.

Baleares missed out on promotion to the Spanish second tier when they lost in the play-offs in June, 2019.

The move to Tenerife for the attacking midfielder is a step up to the Spanish Segunda División.

Shashoua took to Instagram after the move was announced to pay tribute to the coaches, players and staff at Tottenham in what was a classy gesture from the youngster.

Competition for places in the final third of Mauricio Pochettino’s first team is certainly a tough challenge for any player with Giovani Lo Celso, Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura, Heung-min Son, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen all ahead in the pecking order.
