“If Spurs want to do anything it would interest me”

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is keen to take Jake Livermore to Queens Park Rangers.

Redknapp was speaking at the usual pre-match press conference and we all have experience in how ‘Arry loves to talk about transfer targets during the transfer windows.

Livermore made 24 Premier League appearances under Redknapp last season and has performed well when he has come into the team, which saw him earn his first England cap in August against Italy.

There’s plenty of competition in the Spurs midfield, especially with Sandro and Scott Parker playing in a similar role to Livermore to it remains to be seen if AVB would be willing to part with the 23-year-old.

Redknapp said: “Jake’s a good player. I have bags of time for him and if Spurs want to do anything it would interest me.

“I speak to them [the QPR board] every day about who I want, we go through the list and see if there is anyone we can find. We will come up with one or two before too long.

“Getting out of trouble will be almost as good as winning something with the position we’re in. It’s better than sitting in mid-table and seeing the season out.”
