Jan Vertonghen replies to Vincent Janssen’s emotional message with a single Emoji

Vincent Janssen took to social media yesterday following his return to senior action for Tottenham Hotspur for the first time in a considerable amount of time.

The Dutch forward who was named as an unused substitute in Saturday’s defeat at Manchester City was given the chance by Mauricio Pochettino to play the final ten minutes of Tottenham’s Premier League fixture against Brighton on Tuesday night when the score was still level at 0-0.

The supporters at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium sung Janssen’s name to try and welcome him back into the first team fold after 611 days in the wilderness.

Janssen, 24, posted a message on social media thanking the supporters for their support along with the hashtag #nevergiveup

His team-mate Jan Vertonghen, who played the full match against the Seagulls showed his support to the former AZ Alkmaar man by responding to his Tweet with an emoji of a muscle flex.

It’s great to see Janssen getting public support from one of the squad It will be interesting to see if the big forward is being given the opportunity to play to increase his potential transfer value this summer or whether he can do a ‘Sissoko’ and completely change around his fortunes in N17.

Time will tell.
