Jan Vertonghen takes to Twitter to react to news of Tottenham’s latest signing

Jan Vertonghen has wasted no time in reacting to the news that Tottenham Hotspur have secured a season long loan deal for Benfica forward Carlos Vinicius.

Vertonghen, who spent eight campaigns in North London before leaving at the end of last season on a free transfer decided to join the Portuguese giants on a free transfer.

After seeing Vinicius up close and personal in both training and in match situations, Vertonghen replied to a Tweet from the Spurs official account with the muscle emoji, which is typically used in response to acknowledge a job well done.

Vinicius was reported to have been Jose Mourinho’s first choice strike target for the summer transfer window and has now managed to get the deal over the line in what has been a very productive effort from Daniel Levy.

Spurs had already signed Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilón and Gareth Bale prior to Vinicius’ arrival.
